The rising sign or udāya lagna is the starting point to comprehensive birth chart analysis. It is also the place we must continually return as we extend our gaze into the various aspects of someone's life.

Each rising constellation or rāsi is like it's own universe. The differences between one lagna and another points to a sets of predictable character and nature traits that a person will identify with and that their life will be a demonstration of in some way.

This is part 1 of a 3 part course.

All birth charts have at least an AA Rodden rating on AstroDataBank, or they are charts Steven uses which presumably means he feels the time is correct. You will want to pull the info from the links and plug it into your own Jyotish software. If you do not have software yet, don't worry, charts will be provided for you to study from before class:
